Satellites in Low Earth Orbits (LEOs) traverse their orbit over the Earth, whereas satellites in the Geo Stationary Orbits stay in the same position in relation to a point on Earth. Typically LEOs rise and set rapidly, and are within communication range only for a few minutes from a fixed an Earth station.
