I have a friend who is using Dreamweaver (DW) on a M*C box to play with making websites. He wants to be able to use my W7 box to see how his websites look and generally just play. Nothing commercial, nothing that is high-end stuff - he's basically learning DW and just giving him a hand. My setup The W7 box is part of a simple home setup that sits behind a DSL router along with a few other boxes. No AD, just simple as. Router has port forwarding of port 80 to the W7 box and the W7 firewall configured to allow http traffic; tested and confirmed.
On the W7 box I've installed IIS (via Windows Features and WebDAV). Crack Quikseps Professional. IIS is working ok as I can put a 'hello world' html page in wwwroot and and sees it in a browser on another box (i tried it from a neighbours XP machine, which also verified the router port forwarding). WebDAV is configured as follows; In the 'Authoring rule' I have Allow access to 'All content', Allow access to this content to 'Specified users: admin' (Note that this is just a temporary setup - obviously I wont use the admin account normally, I'm just trying to rule out as much as possible:-)) and with permissions Read/Source/Write. When I use the IIS basic settings 'Test Settings.'
